Always amusing to see people's reaction after first game of season throughout College Football.
People are chalking up losses to IU, Rutgers, and Purdue because they all looked slightly better than expected against ranked teams? Maybe the ranked teams aren't as good as anticipated. Lots of ways you can look at it.
Even the entire non-conference slate doesn't necessarily tell you how the season will end up. NW lost to Ill St and went on to a great season last year. Wisky perennially struggles with a low level non con opponent and finds itself in BT champ games routinely.
WKU and USF look beatable and as we saw yesterday sometimes all it takes one or two special players to make the difference and we have that this year in Dudek, Turner, and potentially Epstein.
I think we will continue to get takeaways on the D side especially as B Williams gets settled in.
All hope is not lost for the season and way too early to be saying any coach should be fired
