With the news that Louisiana Tech head coach Michael White has taken the Florida job, Jermaine Ruttley has re-opened his recruitment as a grad transfer.

Ruttley is a 6-3, 200 lbs combo guard. Originally from Kentucky, Ruttley spent two seasons at Kaskaskia College in Centralia, Illinois, then played last season for Florida A&M. The Rattlers were one of the worst teams in D1 last season, but Ruttley put up solid numbers as their go-to player (ORtg of 101 on Usage Rate of 30 percent).

Honestly, Ruttley's statline looks a lot like that of Rayvonte Rice. Ruttley wouldn't have that same impact at the Big Ten level, but that gives you an idea of the type of player he is. Ruttley is a powerful guard with a knack for scoring despite not being a great perimeter shooter. He has solid assist and turnover rates. Ruttley is also a plus defender that can really help on the defensive glass.

Ruttley would be making a huge jump in terms of competition level if he came to the Big Ten, and he's more of a combo guard than a point guard, but I'd rather take a chance on Ruttley than Johnny Hill.
