It destroyed the Syrian regime, is a giant defeat and embarrassment to Russia, and cripples Iran that has already been severely weakened.

Yes. The Russians just lost their only naval base on the Mediterranean. The issue is truly the aftermath. Who is going to control Syria? The Arab Spring didn’t turn out like the Obama Administration/Intelligence thought it would. They could create an entire nation run by Obama’s JV team.
