..and in other news

I actually watched a few WNBA games because of Caitlyn Clark. She is getting roasted for trying to suck up to the black players who dominate her league. If you followed her rookie season you saw her repeatedly cheap shotted by black players, with Angel Reese (black) gleefully clapping in approval.

OK, but on the other side, no player in the WNBA makes much money except thru endorsements. The few that do get endorsements are largely white. So she is sending a message in support of all players, but particularly black that the salaries are not fair. This is an issue with the ownership, not so much society and race.

The WNBA has its collective bargaining agreement coming up and salaries probably will go up some but if you don't get endorsements, you still aren't getting rich in the WNBA. It is totally different in the NBA.

I feel like social media is seeking clicks on this one. I just wish she hadn't used the white privilege thing because that is not at all what this is all about. But did she mean it that way or did the "journalist" at Time magazine take some liberties?

At this point I doubt she would call out Time if they did take liberties but she otherwise seems like a normal midwestern woman who is THE BASKETBALL STAR OF THE WNBA. Good luck to her unless she proves a hopeless liberal. JMHO

The WNBA has not been around as long as the NFL, NBA or MLB. For instance, how long before the players in the NFL made any real money? These guys were getting their brains beat in and working a part time job in the beginning. So, you want to give them some leeway.
But we live in a time when you have a good product it can be recognized quickly online and grow much more rapidly. The problem is the WNBA is just not a great product. CC came into the league and was able to put some new eyeballs on their product and they still lost like 40 million? Most people don't care and even less will care after her stupid comments.
This is good in my mind so I can stop having to scroll past any information about their failed league. 🍾

Women’s BB is awful. CC got people to watch. She was beaten, attacked, and abused by her peers. Now she apologizes for being white and a superior basketball player. They denied her Olympic glory, too. She should have taken the money from the other league and said screw you WNBA.

Of course, we knew this was coming when she supported Kamala!

Clark's white privilege didn't make her the best basketball player in the WNBA. Her work ethic and determination did that. I am not going to pretend I know the pressure of what she has been through the last year. While Clark's words, if she used those exact words, are a bit disappointing, she's not even 23 yo yet. There are only so many Riley Gaines type of people out there. I'm hopeful the clear rejection of wokeness from this election cycle stops some of the stupid. Where the WNBA is, is where many mens professional sports were in the past. Selling tires at Sears in the off-season isn't a joke. Specifically regarding Reese, she could be making as much money as Clark. She's a downright beautiful young woman. She could do some high level fashion modeling for starters (no, I am not talking about OF), but she needs to grow within herself to have a much broader network to appeal to a much larger community of people.

I thought you told me they have no intention of expanding just a month ago and it was just a radical right winger. Now we are moving the goalposts? Let’s see
1. CIA causes chaos in Syria by supporting the very terrorists we supposedly despise.
2. Assad gets overthrown.
3. Israel conveniently comes in to grab the land.
4. Thousands of Christian’s about to be displaced and slaughtered but who cares.

I have never said Oct 7 was a false flag and don’t ever think they would do that to their own people. However , they have conducted false flags in the past(Lavon affair, USS liberty). Some people in the west will never criticize the Israelis and that much is obvious, even to the detriment of their fellow citizens.
Is putting your military in a strategic position by moving up the heights to the highest point "expanding"? Are they going to place settlers at the top of the mountain? You should feel awful how much land the US acquired from 1789 to when Hawaii became the 50th state. As for Christians in Syria, that isn't something I would argue, but it's a different issue. That's on our government who had the Pentagon supporting one group and the CIA supporting a different faction. That stuff can't be made up.

We are somewhat aligned here, but the WNBA has had tons of help those original leagues did not have. Disney is woke and has pushed the WNBA through their 80% ownership in ESPN. I don't see ESPN putting single A baseball teams all over their network and website daily. The woke NBA has stuck an insane amount of money into making this league popular with a massive assist from woke networks and internet sites.

I believe they are now 28 years in, with all of these advantages and they still hemorrhage massive cash. The product has very little market other than woke people trying to push it on everybody.

My wife loves sports. It is a great partnership as I can watch whatever I want sports related. I asked her to name one WNBA franchise this morning. She couldn't do it. She could not name one other than to guess at big cities. The vast majority don't care about this product.

I agree. I'm more discussing player salaries than comparing leagues and who is subsidized vs who wasn't. We live in a free market system. The women need to stop complaining about their salary and go augment it. Or don't play and go get a regular job.

I think the biggest problem with women's basketball is the large bulky women in the front court. Most Americans expect women to be lady like and their front court tries to be just like the men, elbowing, hip checking, and basically anything to get an advantage. The wings and backcourt are fine.

Given there is the NBA and college, the market for the professional women is limited unless a Caitlyn Clark comes along. Forget her politics, she is a generational talent to get them onto a new path. In her first year they let other players beat up on her. This year probably will be different as they have to realize she is their main hope for the future.

Selling short: imagine the WNBA as an investment. Then imagine it without Caitlyn Clark. Some smart investors are going to make a lot of money if she ever can't play.

..and this is why he is needed. Leftwing controlled West Point caught lying.

Read my Report of this happening, YESTERDAY !

Admission to the three Service Academies (not sure on Coasties) works like this.

Each Senate and House member is allowed to have a small number in each academy at a time. They all have a list of 10 alternates, in case their best choice goes elsewhere. Some in Congress allow sports teams to put a person they want on the 10-alternative list, no matter the home State. I was on the 10 alternate list from a House member from Callie, despite Manlius being in NY State. That is the system of admission for Direct kids out of high school or PG .

There are also 3 Academy Post Grad school. NAPS is the Navy and Coastie at Newport RI. USAFA & USMA are on site, but separate from the college. There are several ways of gaining Admission and about 1/3 of all incoming Plebes are from those 3 schools.

I strongly suggest that Parents contact Head Coaches of your kids sport and the Director of Admissions. There is no charge to attend (They get the student pay ((around 1,000)) a month AND there is NO enlistment requirement YET. It is about 90 % that after the year at the prep schools you will be admitted.

Prior to CC, the WNBA was losing about $ 25,000,000 million per year ! Subsidized by the NBA.
This past year it is estimated they will lose $ 50,000,000 million, DESPITE CC ! (Charter flights are the primary increases losses !)

And yet they just added an expansion franchise in San Francisco.

The financials are above my pay grade but if they are losing $50 mil per year that is Biden level losing. Sounds like a good area for Dems to recruit future candidates.

Whichever way the political (and financial) winds blow….
My Boss was the largest donator in New Jersey, for BOTH the Democratic AND Republican parties !

The Political dinners ( $ 1,000 a plate), I saw Trump at in NYC were for 3 reasons. Democratic, Republican, Racial groups.

Approx 15 years ago, Isreal's Air Force bombed into dust the purported Syrian Nuke bomb development site !

This week they have destroyed the Syrian poison gas storage site ! That Assad had previously used on his own citizens !

The WNBA has been propped up for decades at this point and is still a miserable failure as it is hard to draw people to a mediocre product. CC was a true gift to that league and they blew it! They denied her a spot on the Olympic team which would have made Women's Olympic BB "Must see" for those who follow CC. Instead, no one cared about it without CC.

Now, CC endorsed Kamala and bent a knee to those who want her destroyed and are willing to maim her (long-ass fingernails to the eye can result in permanent damage as can head injuries). It's the dumbest league in the world.

In contrast, MLS is a resounding success - it took 30 years but here we are. MLS earned their success. Many will say what success. But, they have an average franchise value of $678M! Amazing. Attendance for the league is the second highest in the world behind only the EPL - ahead of Italy, Germany, and Spanish leagues. It's just a matter of time before they start attracting stars in their prime.

WNBA? Still a LOL. Teams sellout at home with the fans cheering for CC.

They added a team because the woke NBA is rolling in $$$. For them, it is like Zuck throwing a million to Trump. Just change.

I do not expect WNBA leadership to suddenly get smarter this year with regard to CC. Expecting stupid people to learn and suddenly become smart is a losing proposition. The truth is, their only marketable player just bent the knee and the novelty of seeing CC will wear off. Connor Bedard is awesome, but until the Hawks win, the novelty of having him will run short.

Speaking of the WNBA, subsidies are great until the mothership starts tanking. In the late 90s Ericsson mobile phones were losing money and market share. This was covered up by Ericsson Mobile Systems which was rolling in cash as cellular networks kept expanding. However, when that market slowed, cell phones at Ericsson were on their own and the story did not end well.

The Inspector General presented his examination of Jan 6 th.

The FBI has admitted to having 26 CI's at the mob.

The FBI Director announced his resignation one day prior, the resignation is official Inauguration Day !
Here is the truth.

Justice Department Watchdog Finds No FBI Agents Or Informants Involved In Jan. 6 Riot

The report is a major debunking of Republican conspiracy theories, but it's four years late and comes after Donald Trump is already president-elect.
WASHINGTON ― No undercover FBI agents were at the Capitol during the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection, and no paid informants encouraged Donald Trump’s supporters to riot that day, according to a new report from a Department of Justice watchdog.
“We found no evidence in the materials we reviewed or the testimony we received showing or suggesting that the FBI had undercover employees in the various protest crowds, or at the Capitol, on January 6,” the Justice Department wrote in a summary of Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s final report on the Jan. 6 attack of the U.S. Capitol.
The report is a significant blow to Republican conspiracy theories about the Jan. 6 attack on Congress.
Some of Trump’s Republican allies have asserted that the violence of the attack was, in part, the byproduct of undercover FBI agents or informants whipping up the crowd. While trial testimony, including informant testimony at seditious conspiracy trials, confirmed there were informants on the ground on Jan. 6, FBI Director Christopher Wray has emphatically denied that the agency was in any way involved in fueling the chaos at the Capitol.

The inspector general report offered a more authoritative debunking of the Republican claims about FBI agents or informants participating in the riot.
Horowitz’s report has been a long time coming. He said he would produce findings a week after Donald Trump’s supporters — hundreds of far-right extremists, including members of the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers — stormed the Capitol, assaulting hundreds of police as Congress was forced to delay its certification of the 2020 election.
Trump repeated his vow to pardon the 1,500 rioters charged with federal crimes in a Time magazine interview published Thursday. Hundreds have been charged with assaulting police officers.
