1. The Illini are stopping the run this year much better than they have in the recent past. (there is reason for hope)!! ........However, not a lot of sacks. It seems there were several plays against MTSU that could have come out differently if the D -line and linebackers would get their hands up to alter a pass, if not knock it down. At least one of the 4th down plays could easily have been altered, and possibly two of the three.

2. Also on Saturday, I noticed that a running back flattened a linebacker or D-end, on a move where the RB turns his shoulders somewhat sideways, bends at the knee and then launches upward into the chin of the defender with his helmet. On two separate occasions that I noticed, he has connected with this maneuver. (probably some payback there). I'm thinking this is questionable, if not illegal. Seems like an intent to injure. Given that the current trend has been to call hands to the face, or targeting, I wonder if he is going to get flagged for this or potentially ejected. Am I wrong?
