When Jeff and I used to email and talk on the phone and converse on the field and in the seats at Memorial Statium. I never thought I would be at this number.
He warned me that people on the site would be demeaning and spiteful, once they learned my identity as a Parent. But I was only interested in posting if people would know or surmise who I was and why I was posting. Only one person in the many years since was and he is long gone into oblivion.
Many times at many Stadiums around the country. Where Illinois was playing members have come up to me and "are you Big Will ?", and we would have a wonderful conversation.
Then Jeff disappeared !
I don't recall how Doug got the "job" of keeping and now growing the site, but I am very glad he did. He has brought in other experts like Brad and been so patient as we learned what could be said and what would give some of us a "vacation".
Now after so many years of strife and struggle, we may have teams that we can be proud of on the field and off as well.
Some may be tired of my "stories", but I swear with my hand on a Bible, that they are all true, or as true as my little gray cells remember. I try not to repeat them and I hope I have some left to entertain some and exasperate others.
Thanks very much for the Welcome when Matt first arrived in Champaign and now when I am babysitting for Grandchildren.
